The eldest son of US President Donald Trump - Donald Trump Jr., will meet with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto in Budapest tomorrow, the Hungarian Foreign Ministry announced today, quoted by Reuters, reports BTA.
It is not yet clear whether Trump Jr.'s visit is related to specific business deals. As executive vice president of the "Trump Organization", he is working to expand the family business in various areas, including real estate, retail and wholesale trade, the hospitality sector and golf, the company's website noted.
Late last night, "Bloomberg" announced that Trump Jr. would visit Eastern Europe this week in an effort to expand the family's business ties.
Last month, he met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. The visit to Serbia followed a deal struck last year between the Serbian government and Affinity Global Development, the U.S.-based investment company of Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. The deal involves building a hotel on the site of the former headquarters of the Yugoslav People's Army, destroyed in a NATO bombing in 1999.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, a longtime Trump ally, said last week that Hungary is expected to sign a business deal with the United States within the next six months. The deal could help offset the impact of tariffs imposed by the U.S. president, which will hit Hungary's economy, which is heavily dependent on the auto industry.
