Ukraine's parliament said last night that the country's security was guaranteed by US support and described President Donald Trump's efforts to maintain peace as “crucial” to end the three-year war with Russia, Reuters reported, BTA reported.

The statement, published in English three days after the public dispute at the White House between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said that Washington's support was “more crucial than ever for the Ukrainian people“.

“The Ukrainian people want peace more than anyone else in the world and believe that President Donald Trump's personal role and his peacekeeping efforts will be decisive for a quick cessation of hostilities and achieving peace for Ukraine, Europe and the entire world“, it said.

Against this backdrop, it became clear that US President Donald Trump has temporarily suspended all military aid to Ukraine after his clash with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Associated Press, Reuters, "Fox News", "Bloomberg" reported and a number of other major US and world media outlets, citing a White House official.

“The president has made it clear that he is focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well. We are suspending and reviewing our assistance to make sure it contributes to finding a solution“, the source quoted by Reuters said. The same statement was quoted by all other media outlets that reported the news, including the Ukrainian agency Ukrinform, which cited "Bloomberg".

Zelensky's office did not immediately respond to Reuters' request for comment after business hours. "Fox News" quoted another US official who stressed that this was a pause, not a permanent suspension of assistance.
