Europe and Ukraine need a final end to the war, not a temporary interruption, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in "Ex" after a conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Ukrinform reported.
The two leaders had "an honest conversation on various issues and our vision for the future security architecture," according to Zelensky.
"We count on the unity of Europe around Ukraine and are working for it. We all want a safe future for our peoples. Not a temporary truce, but an end to the war once and for all. With our coordinated efforts and the leadership of the United States, this is fully achievable," the Ukrainian president added.
He stressed that Ukraine will always remember the German contribution to strengthening its air defense and, most importantly, to saving the lives of thousands of people.
"We see opportunities to expand our cooperation in this area. We will continue to work on this," Zelensky noted.
Earlier, it was reported that Zelensky also spoke with Friedrich Merz, the leader of the conservative CDU party that won the elections in Germany. The two agreed to continue cooperation.
