Ukraine and Poland have developed a joint action plan that includes urgent and long-term defense projects, Ukrinform reports, citing Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
He made the statement in Warsaw during a joint press conference with his Polish counterpart Wladyslaw Kosyniak-Kamysz.
“We have developed a plan according to which we will work on both urgent and long-term projects“, Umerov said. He stressed that the two countries can now implement key initiatives in the defense industry and have identified priority areas for cooperation.
Among the main topics of the meeting was the strengthening of Ukraine's air defense. Umerov thanked Poland for its military, diplomatic and economic support since the beginning of the war. He noted the strategic role of the Polish logistics centers in Rzeszow and Lublin, which facilitate the delivery of military aid to Ukraine.
“We will work strategically to strengthen the defense capabilities of both countries“, the Ukrainian minister said.
Poland is preparing its 46th package of military aid to Ukraine, amounting to over 200 million euros.
For his part, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosińska-Kamiś said that the resumption of negotiations between Ukraine and the United States gives hope for a just peace. He stressed that Poland will continue to provide logistical and military support to its eastern neighbor.
