Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko wrote on his Facebook page that he and his colleagues from the "European Solidarity" party "are working publicly and transparently with American partners". "We have repeatedly offered to coordinate these meetings with the authorities, even to invite the ambassador to them", he wrote.
Poroshenko added that elections in Ukraine "are possible after a ceasefire and the signing of a peace agreement with security guarantees for Ukraine".
Former Ukrainian Prime Minister and leader of the Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) party - ed. note) Yulia Tymoshenko also stated that until the war ends "under the strong leadership" President Trump, "there can be no talk of holding any elections in Ukraine".
Both politicians claim that this is the position they express in all negotiations with all of Ukraine's allies.
Earlier today, it was reported that people from Trump's entourage held secret talks with Tymoshenko and Poroshenko. According to the publication, the parties discussed whether Ukraine could hold presidential elections before the start of comprehensive peace talks.
