Kyriakos Mitsotakis' government received a vote of confidence - 1

With 157 votes from the 300-member parliament, the Greek government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis received a vote of confidence from the parliament, BNR reported.

It was supported only by the votes of the deputies from the ruling conservative party “New Democracy“. The leaders of the opposition parties insisted that the government resign because it received a vote of no confidence from the thousands of Greeks protesting in the country.

The prime minister said that the government was largely to blame for the train accident, but the main cause was human error. The ruling party has a program and a responsibility to the Greeks for the successful development of the country, the prime minister emphasized.

Thousands of Greeks joined the protest demonstrations throughout the country. Again, the call was "Justice in memory of the victims." In Athens and Thessaloniki, relatives of the dead students also spoke at the demonstrations.

The tension of the protest in Thessaloniki forced the police to use tear gas. In response, the demonstrators staged a sit-in protest against the police. In Athens, anarchists again threw stones and Molotov cocktails at the police in front of the parliament. Some demonstrators were arrested.
