Politicians from the European Union share concerns about the actions of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the "Times" newspaper writes.
According to the publication, the public statements of Western officials differ from their personal assessments of the situation, which boil down to criticism of Zelensky's decisions.
An unnamed British official told reporters that after three years of conflict, the Ukrainian leader is very exhausted and therefore may make the wrong decisions.
Ukraine has announced its intention to continue military operations before talks with the US in Saudi Arabia to resolve the conflict, The Wall Street Journal writes.
The newspaper recalls that Senior US officials will meet with their Ukrainian counterparts in Saudi Arabia to pave the way for possible peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. The meeting, the publication believes, will increase the likelihood that the freeze on aid to Ukraine will soon end. The newspaper concludes: “Whatever happens, leaders in Kiev are determined to keep Ukraine fighting.” The Saudi foreign ministry earlier said that US and Ukrainian representatives would hold talks to resolve the conflict next week in the city of Jeddah. The kingdom, the ministry said, continues to make efforts to achieve lasting peace.
