Polish President Andrzej Duda has called on the US to deploy nuclear warheads on his country's territory in order to deter possible Russian aggression, Reuters reported, citing the British newspaper "Financial Times", BTA reports.
According to the publication, Duda recently discussed this with US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and Russia - Keith Kellogg.
"NATO's borders shifted east in 1999, so 26 years later there should also be a shift of the alliance's infrastructure east. "I think that's obvious," Andrzej Duda said in an interview with the Financial Times.
He stressed that it would be safer if such weapons were deployed in Poland.
