The captain of the cargo ship "Solong", which collided with a tanker off the British coast in the North Sea, has been arrested on suspicion of murder due to gross negligence as part of the investigation into the incident, BNR reported.
The owner of the ship, sailing under the Portuguese flag, Ernst Rus, confirmed that the 59-year-old captain was detained by Humberside police.
"The captain and our entire team are actively assisting the investigations. Out of respect for the investigation and everyone involved, we will not comment further at this time," Ernst Rus said.
