US President Donald Trump bought a Tesla car, showing his support for the company's CEO Elon Musk. This became clear from a post by Trump on social networks, in which he shared a video filmed in front of the White House, reports Focus.
The footage shows Trump getting into a red Tesla car, commenting enthusiastically:
— Oh, it's great. Wow!
Trump explained that he is not allowed to drive, as he has not driven a car for a long time:
— I will have this car in the White House and I will allow the staff to use it. I want to drive cars, but I am not allowed to – Can you believe it?
During the car's unveiling, Elon Musk said Tesla would double its production in the US over the next two years. He stressed that this was the result of "the great policies of President Trump and his administration."
Trump had previously announced his intention to buy Tesla to show his support for Musk in response to the protests dubbed the "Tesla Takedown" and the subsequent dramatic decline in the company's stock.
