Ukraine will never recognize the occupied territories as Russian, President Volodymyr Zelensky said at a press conference, quoted by Ukrinform, BTA reported.
„We will not recognize any of the territories occupied by Russia. This is a fact. Our people fought for this, our heroes gave their lives. So many people were injured, we suffered so much. That is why no one will forget. When I say that no one will forget, these are our fundamental red lines“, Zelensky said.
He stressed that the state will not allow anyone to forget about the crimes committed against Ukraine.
Ukrinform recalls that after a meeting yesterday between the American and Ukrainian delegations in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, a joint statement was published in which Ukraine expressed its readiness to accept a US proposal for the immediate implementation of a 30-day ceasefire. The term of this ceasefire could be extended if Russia accepts and at the same time adheres to its conditions.
“Our troops are fulfilling their tasks in the Kursk region. The Russians are definitely trying to exert maximum pressure on our forces. "The military command is doing what it has to do, preserving the maximum number of lives of our soldiers," Zelensky said.
Meanwhile, according to the popular online map of the battlefield in Ukraine by the Ukrainian organization "Deep State," which relies on open-access sources, Kiev forces have left the town of Sudzha in the Kursk region, where Moscow has launched an offensive in recent days.
A spokesman for the Ukrainian forces responsible for the Kursk region front declined to comment on this information, Reuters noted.
Sudzha is the largest settlement in the Russian region, which was captured by Ukraine last August to be used as a bargaining chip in possible future negotiations with Moscow.
