US President Donald Trump is seeking rapprochement with Russia to weaken China, writes the Washington Post.
The article notes that the American leader, in his quest to improve relations with Moscow, is using the strategy of the “reverse Kissinger“ – trying to create a gap between Russia and China.
At the same time, as the authors of the article point out, he is ready to achieve what he wants at the cost of ending the conflict in Ukraine.
According to the publication, restoring relations with Russia in order to focus on China would be "to some extent reasonable".
