The European Union will provide nearly €2.5 billion in aid to Syria in 2025 and 2026, said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. This was announced during the opening of the international pledging conference for Syria in Brussels, reported Agence France-Presse, quoted by BTA.
“Syrians need more support, whether they are abroad or have decided to return home“, von der Leyen stressed in her speech.
The pledging conference aims to mobilize the international community to provide financial and humanitarian assistance to Syrian refugees and regions affected by the ongoing conflict.
