US President Donald Trump said he has given his administration permission to start producing energy using coal as fuel.
“After years of captivity to environmental extremists, lunatics, radicals and thugs, while other countries, especially China, have been allowed to gain a huge economic advantage over us by opening hundreds of coal-fired power plants, I am authorizing my administration to immediately start producing energy from beautiful, clean coal“, he wrote on Truth Social.
US President Donald Trump increased tariffs on all goods imported from China to 20% from the previous 10%. The measure was a punishment for what Trump said was Beijing's failure to stop the supply of chemicals used to produce the deadly opioid fentanyl to the United States.
A Chinese Foreign Ministry official said the United States was using "something that has made great progress... as an excuse to impose tariffs on China, which is not the way to solve problems," adding that the United States was "returning kindness with hostility" and its actions were "meaningless," BTA reported.
