British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said it was important that his country and its allies be able to react immediately the moment a peace agreement is reached between Russia and Ukraine, Reuters reported.
The statement, made during a visit to a nuclear submarine center, comes on the day that senior military officials from dozens of countries are meeting in Britain to discuss a possible peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.
"(Our) plans are focused on protecting Ukraine's skies, seas and borders and on working together with the Ukrainians," Starmer told media representatives.
"We are working hard because we don't know when a peace agreement will be reached. "I certainly hope there will be one, but if there is an agreement, it is really important that we are able to react immediately," the British Prime Minister said.
