13 people, including 10 police officers, were injured and several cars damaged after a driver refused to stop at the request of the police and a chase began in the south of Paris, NOVA reported.
The several-kilometer chase ended after the pursued car lost control and crashed into a traffic light, and three pursuing police cars crashed into it.
During a police check at around 5:45 a.m. (local time) in the 14th arrondissement in southern Paris, the driver refused to comply with police orders to stop. Three police cars subsequently gave chase. The prosecutor's office reported that the driver ran a red light. The driver is suspected to have been under the influence of alcohol.
As a result, ten police officers suffered minor injuries and were hospitalized. “The driver and two passengers were arrested and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,“ the statement said. The Unsa-Police union released a photo of the incident.
