A photo of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky posing in front of a painting depicting the burning Kremlin, published by Time magazine, has caused great irritation in Moscow, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
“This probably best shows the level of intellectual development and the inner state of those who pose for such photos,“ Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said regarding the photo published yesterday by the American magazine, state news agency TASS reported.
The magazine has described its report as an exclusive on the outcome of the war in Ukraine.
The 2022 painting by Georgian artist Sandro Antadze, titled “The Dream“, is said to be the favorite symbol of Zelensky on the victory in the war that Russia started more than three years ago.
According to “Time“, the painting, which hangs in a room behind the president's office, was also displayed during Zelensky's New Year's address on December 31, 2023. In his address, he said that those who bring hell to Ukraine will one day see it from their own window.
The “Time“ article reports that a photo of a Russian ship that sank in the Black Sea in 2022 hangs above Zelensky's bed. Another painting shows Ukrainian troops during combat operations on Russian soil.
Regarding the paintings, Zelensky told the magazine: “Each of them is dedicated to victory. This is what I live for.“
