“Shamarin has repeatedly sent letters asking to be sent to the Special Military Operation to serve his homeland“, said one of his defense lawyers.

The defendant's request is being considered by the Ministry of Defense.

Shamarin is accused of receiving bribes in especially large amounts when fulfilling a state defense order (Part 6, Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

He has pleaded guilty, and the maximum penalty is 15 years in prison with a fine of 100 times the amount of the bribe.

The investigation imposed precautionary measures on the real estate, assets and bank accounts of Shamarin.

According to the Investigative Committee, between April 2016 and October 2023, he received bribes of 36 million rubles from the General Director of the Perm Telephone Plant Telta Alexey Vysokov and the Chief Accountant of the same company Elena Grishina to increase the volume of products supplied under state orders for the needs of the Ministry of Defense and for general patronage. Specifically, a certain model of radio stations.

The case materials indicate that Vysokov and Grishina have been in custody since the summer of 2023 and are accused of fraud.

The plant has fulfilled state orders for the Russian Ministry of Defense for more than 442 million rubles.

The convicted former head of the first department of the Main Directorate of Communications of the Russian Armed Forces, Major General Alexander Ogloblin, who was released from the penal colony, testified against Shamarin.
