Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed discussing the introduction of an interim government in Ukraine. It is possible that it will be under the auspices of the UN together with the US, European countries and Russia's partners, he believes.

According to him, this is necessary for holding elections there. The Russian leader noted that the civilian authorities in Ukraine are currently not legitimate, since there have been no presidential elections. "The constitution is structured in such a way that everyone is appointed by the president, including regional authorities. Governors are appointed and so on. If Zelensky is illegitimate, then everyone else is too," the Russian leader said. The interim government would allow for democratic elections and the coming to power of a "viable government".

The Russian leader noted that the great influence of the "Nazis" is a serious problem in Ukraine. "Neo-Nazi formations like "Azov" are actually starting to rule Ukraine in the conditions of illegitimacy of the authorities - how can we negotiate with them?! — he wondered.

Putin added that Moscow is ready to work with all countries that seek to resolve the root causes of the Ukrainian conflict for a peaceful solution. However, Russia will no longer make mistakes based on excessive trust in its so-called partners, he assured.

According to him, Europe has convinced Kiev to continue military operations in order to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. "Their curators, in particular from Great Britain, have arrived – "former Prime Minister Mr. Johnson convinced the Ukrainian leadership that it was necessary to continue the armed struggle until the last Ukrainian," he noted.

“And the former leaders who then led some of the leading Western countries, in particular the former President of France Mr. Hollande and Mrs. Merkel, the former Chancellor of Germany, directly stated, directly, publicly, without being embarrassed, said that they needed the Minsk agreements only to further arm the Ukrainian regime and prepare it for military action with us.“

“Gradually, not as quickly as some would like, but still stubbornly and confidently, we are moving towards achieving all the goals stated at the beginning of the special operation“, Putin summed up.
