Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his Finnish counterpart Alexander Stub discussed next steps to assist Ukraine, Ukrinform reported, quoted by BTA, referring to a statement by Zelensky in his traditional evening video address.
"I just spoke with the President of Finland – we had a very productive conversation. "I want to thank President Stubb, all Finns for their support for Ukraine, for their very rational positions and willingness to work together, for the sake of achieving real peace," the Ukrainian head of state noted.
He reported that he had briefly briefed his colleague on the ongoing Russian strikes.
"The other day there was a brutal attack on "Kharkov" with Russian "Shahed" (drones). A total of 55 people were injured in this attack in Kharkiv alone, including five children. Everyone received assistance. Unfortunately, two people were killed," Zelensky said.
The two heads of state also discussed possible next steps to assist Ukraine.
"Alexander (Stub) spoke about his visit to the United States and his talks with the US President. We are ready to continue together, to move together with America as quickly as possible in diplomacy, in our interaction. We expect that the United States, Europe, all our other partners who really want peace and guaranteed security will use all necessary tools. Everyone needs the success of diplomacy, except Putin. So we need to put pressure on him so that diplomacy succeeds and people's lives are preserved," Zelensky stressed.
