More than 50% of Ukrainians are critical of US President Donald Trump's peace efforts, according to a survey by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology, Reuters reports.
They fear that these efforts will likely lead to a partially or completely unfair end to Russia's war against their country.
Trump has promised to bring a quick end to the three-year war, but has sometimes echoed the Kremlin's lines on the conflict - and at one point even blamed Kiev for starting it. He also temporarily suspended military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
The Kyiv International Institute of Sociology said it based its findings on a survey of 1,326 people in Ukrainian-controlled territory conducted between March 12 and 22.
32% of respondents expect a "rather unfair peace, albeit with the fulfillment of some of Ukraine's demands", and 22% expect a "completely unfair peace".
Only 3% believe Trump can achieve a just peace, with 15% expecting a "rather fair peace, albeit with some concessions to Russia".
The figures show that Ukrainians have become less optimistic about Trump's efforts since he took office in January.
In December, 20% said they expected "a rather unfair peace", and 11% expect a completely unfair outcome to the conflict.
"Even before 2025, there was some disappointment with the US actions in Ukraine, and the Trump administration is quite decisively reinforcing disapproval of the US," noted Anton Hrushetsky, executive director of the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.
Separately, 67% of Ukrainians believe that the US is getting tired of Ukraine and is trying to pressure it to make concessions.
