SpaceX launched its Crew Dragon spacecraft on Monday as part of the privately funded Fram2 mission, which will send an all-civilian crew into polar orbit for the first time.
The broadcast took place on the company's account on the social network X.
The team consists of four people: entrepreneur Chun Wang (Malta), film director Janike Mikkelsen (Norway), robotics specialist Rabea Rogge (Germany) and professional traveler Eric Phillips (Australia).
The mission will last between three and five days, during which the team will conduct a series of scientific tests, including X-ray examination in space, a series of exercises to study the preservation of muscle and bone mass and an experiment to grow mushrooms in microgravity.
The spaceship successfully entered orbit and will fly over the North and South Poles of the planet. The flight will be carried out at an altitude of up to 450 km.
A SpaceX representative noted that the mission is an important moment for the development of commercial space flights and will open new opportunities for future space tourism.
