The deal between Washington and Beijing for the social network TikTok was canceled after China said it would reject the agreement due to retaliatory tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump, Reuters reported, citing its sources.
It is noted that the agreement was previously approved by the Chinese Internet holding ByteDance, which owns TikTok, and the US government.
According to sources, the deal includes the transfer of TikTok operations to a new company based in the United States and owned mainly by American investors.
It is also reported that ByteDance's share in TikTok's assets, if the agreement is signed successfully, will be less than 20%.
