During the fighting in the Kursk region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost approximately 1,500 units of NATO equipment worth about $2.7 billion, RIA Novosti reports, citing calculations by the Russian military group "North" and data from open sources, Focus reports.

“According to our data, during the Kursk adventure, the group "North" destroyed about 1,500 units of NATO equipment“, an unnamed source from the formation stated.

Some of the damaged equipment was evacuated by the repair teams of "North" for transfer to museum exhibits, while another part was sent for restoration and reuse. The media outlet notes that the value is based on publicly available information, as the real cost of many of the systems - such as Abrams, Leopard and MaxxPro - may be even higher.

In early March, Russian forces launched a large-scale offensive in the Kursk region. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the army has taken control of more than 30 settlements, including the strategically important city of Sudzha.

According to official Russian statistics, during the fighting, Ukrainian forces lost more than 72,000 servicemen, 404 tanks and thousands of other units of military equipment.
