Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of the President of the United States, will visit Romania on April 28 to participate in an event dedicated to the business environment. This was reported by the Romanian media Digi24 and G4Media, citing information from the organizers, BTA reports.
According to their data, Trump Jr. has no official meetings planned with representatives of Romanian political parties.
His visit will take place just a week before the first round of the presidential elections in Romania, scheduled for May 4. The presence of such a prominent figure near a key political moment in the country is drawing increased public attention.
According to G4Media, the visit to Romania is part of a broader tour of Donald Trump Jr. in Eastern Europe, which also includes the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia and Bulgaria.
In December last year, 47-year-old Trump Jr. commented on social media about the decision of the Constitutional Court of Romania to annul the first round of the presidential election, calling it "another Soros-Marxist attempt to manipulate the result".
In early March, independent presidential candidate Victor Ponta posted a photo with Donald Trump Jr. on social media, which further fueled speculation about possible political sympathies.
