"Russia is ready to conduct a serious and practical dialogue for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, but will not allow anyone to deceive us into using the negotiation process to strengthen the military potential of the Kiev regime".
This was stated by Russia's permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya at a meeting of the UN Security Council on the Ukrainian issue.
Nebenzya noted that the scenario that Russia and the United States are discussing is “finding a sustainable and long-term solution to the Ukrainian conflict“.
“To this end, it is necessary to eliminate its root causes, including the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine, which, as we all know today, began long before the beginning of "our military operation was carried out under the cover of the Minsk agreements," the head of the Russian diplomatic mission noted.
Yesterday, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the delegations to the upcoming Russian-American talks in Istanbul will be led by the Russian Ambassador to Washington Alexander Darchiev and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Sonata Coulter.
