The coming to power of the representatives of the Kiev regime is a consequence of the fact that the Ukrainian people have forgotten the history of their ancestors and spiritual and moral values.

This was said by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview for the TASS Children project.

“Forgetting history, spiritual and moral values, roots, if you will, all this has become one of the main reasons for what we see now in Ukraine“, he said.

Lavrov noted that the United States and Europe, in their efforts to bring to power in Ukraine “an openly Russophobic Nazi regime”, have deliberately “instilled oblivion of Russian roots” and spread ideas that led to social amnesia in Ukrainian society.

“This was used by the Americans and Europeans to bring to power in Ukraine an openly Russophobic Nazi regime that declared war on its own people, seized power through an illegal coup d'état and called those who disagreed with this coup terrorists, starting a real war against them with the help of regular armed forces, aviation and artillery“, he noted.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that among European countries there are two approaches to the perception of support for Nazism in their own history.

“Someone wants to quickly erase from history the pages of their national shame, collaborationism and complicity with the Nazis; someone even sees in Nazi ideology some new tool for maintaining their positions on the European political scene“, Lavrov noted. "We will fight this."

„Germany certainly wants to regain its former greatness and genetically for this purpose old instincts, Nazi instincts,“, Lavrov said.

„Now we see how the same Germany openly raised the slogan of remilitarization, changed the constitution for this purpose, will borrow money to implement an armament program worth 800 billion euros in three to four years, when in Germany the ideology of Nazism is already starting to emerge more and more, despite constitutional prohibitions, despite the verdicts of the Nuremberg Tribunal. In our contacts with German diplomats over the past seven or eight years, the feeling that they are telling us directly - "Dear colleagues, we have already paid everyone for everything and we owe nothing to anyone. This is very worrying,“ he said.

According to him, there is currently a rising anti-Russian wave, and this does not only concern Germany. "The Baltics simply live with Russophobia. They cannot wake up or fall asleep without it."

"The attempts that are being made with renewed vigor to blame the Soviet Union for the start of World War II, not only to equate the guilt of Hitler and Stalin, but also to make Stalin the main culprit for what happened, are causing great concern," the minister noted.

Europe is "angry" again of Russia, although all world tragedies previously began with aggressive actions by Europeans - the Napoleonic Wars, World War I and World War II, Lavrov continued.

"Only after World War II, when Europe was weakened, did the Americans become the leaders of the so-called free world, and then they initiated most of the conflicts on the planet. And before that, all the tragedy came exclusively from Europe."

The head of Russian diplomacy emphasized that during World War II, almost all “neutral“ European countries, except for those that officially fought on the side of Adolf Hitler, participated in battles on the side of the German army. Among these countries, the diplomat also placed France.

“Yes, they had a resistance movement, but, like most other European countries, the official authorities in Paris meekly surrendered to the will of the victors and continued to live as if nothing had happened. We will never forget the role played by the resistance, but this is just one example. And official French troops participated in battles on the side of Nazi Germany, including in a number of punitive operations. And there are many such examples“, Lavrov continued.
