The US has carried out an airstrike on a residential area in the city of Hodeidah, the capital of the province of the same name in western Yemen, the Houthi-controlled Al Masirah TV channel reported.
According to the latest data from the Houthi Ministry of Health, at least six people have been killed and 16 others injured as a result of the strikes. Rescuers continue to search for people under the rubble, Al Masirah reported.
US forces also bombed telephone network facilities in Ibb province in southwestern Yemen.
According to Al Masirah, US aircraft have carried out at least three strikes on facilities providing telephone communications in the region. It is unclear whether local residents still have access to mobile communication services.
On March 15, the United States began attacking Houthi targets, who control about a third of Yemen. The operation is aimed at protecting American interests and ensuring freedom of navigation, the U.S. Central Command said. In response, the rebels launched a series of attacks on the U.S. aircraft carrier "Harry Truman" in the northern Red Sea, using missiles and drones.
