The introduction of tariffs by the US against a number of countries is one of their traditional ways of doing business. This was written by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on her Telegram channel.
"In one day, American and retaliatory tariffs have grown even more. The bargaining is serious. For the US, this is one of the traditional ways of doing business. For many countries, this is a shock," she noted.
On April 2, US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of tariffs on goods from 185 countries and territories. The universal tariffs of 10% came into effect on April 5, the individual ones came into effect this morning. In addition, the US administration has imposed a 25% tariff on all imported cars effective April 3.
On April 8, Trump said that US tariffs on imported goods were costing the US $2 billion a day. The US president said that Washington was in talks with more than 70 countries that wanted to export their goods to the US.
