Six Spanish citizens died after a helicopter crashed into the Hudson River in New York, the Associated Press reported.

According to the agency, there were six people on board, all of whom died. The causes of the incident have not yet been specified.

New York Mayor Eric Adams confirmed the deaths of all six people aboard the helicopter, .

"All six were pulled from the water. Unfortunately, everyone died," he said at a press conference broadcast on the Fox News channel.

Adams added that there were three adults, including the pilot, and three children on board. The passengers were a family of tourists from Spain.

Four people were pronounced dead at the scene, and two others were taken to a hospital but died from their injuries, New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said. The names of the victims have not yet been released; law enforcement officials are first asking to notify the deceased's next of kin of the incident.
