Finnish President Alexander Stubb admitted in an interview with The New York Times that Ukraine will have to make territorial concessions that "reflect the situation on the battlefield".
At the same time, Stubb said that his country will not recognize these territories as Russian. He claims that earlier American negotiators had outlined a draft peace plan according to which the United States would recognize Crimea as part of Russia.
Then "Ukraine and the Europeans came up with a counter-proposal, which was rejected by Moscow". “I propose that we restructure these two proposals in such a way as to create an opportunity to reach a deal right now“, Stubb said.
The politician also believes that Ukraine should be “armed to the teeth” as part of future security guarantees.”
