Stellantis' Polish engine plant was exported to Brazil - 1

The passenger car internal combustion engine plant in the Polish city of Bielsko-Biala, which belonged to Stellantis, stopped working and the equipment was taken away. Since 2003, more than 7.3 million modern diesel and gasoline engines have been produced there.

Models of brands such as Fiat, Jeep, Suzuki and others were equipped with the Polish engines. Now the plant has stopped working forever. The process of liquidation of the enterprise lasted 10 months. This is reported by Kresy.pl and a number of other Polish resources.

All equipment has been dismantled and shipped to Brazil, where Stellantis will continue to operate at its Betima plant. Such a move will allow the company to increase production capacity of internal combustion power units in South America.

The Brazilian plant is the second largest car manufacturer in South America, with a production capacity of approximately 850,000 cars per year. It is also one of the largest enterprises of the Stellantis Group.

Meanwhile in Bielsko-Bialy, which is about 400 kilometers from Lviv, more than 800 workers lost their jobs. Stellantis was interested in a quick sale of the premises and the allocated land, but there were not many takers for this site.

Initially, the Polish arms group was interested in buying the real estate. However, she later backed out of the deal. The new owner of the production facilities eventually became the entrepreneur DL Invest Group from Katowice.

A real estate company has reportedly paid €25 million for the former engine factory. This amount even exceeds the staff compensation, which is good, but only for the seller.
