Cars that lose the least value during resale - 1

Analysts from the authoritative independent organization JD Power published a ranking of cars with the best indicators of residual value. The new study is called the 2025 US ALG Residual Value Awards.

The list of winners is not a surprise to many - the ranking is dominated by Japanese brands. Traditionally, the ranking is topped by Honda and Lexus, which for the fourth year in a row show the best indicators.

In addition to Best Premium Brand, Lexus wins the most awards for number of models. Class awards went to the IS, LS, NX, RX and TX. Parent brand Toyota, in turn, gets recognition for the Camry, GR Supra, Tundra and Land Cruiser.

Honda wins for the Civic, Passport and Odyssey, while Subaru takes the honors for the Crosstrek, Forester and WRX. The other prizes go to Honda's premium brand - Acura with the Integra model and Nissan Kicks.

Among the American brands, General Motors had the best performance, winning five awards. The Chevrolet Corvette was named Best Premium Sports Car and the Cadillac Escalade was named Best Large Premium SUV.

Some of the models from the American branch of the Stellantis concern were also awarded - Jeep Gladiator and Wagoneer. A surprise for many is the victory of the new electric Dodge Charger Daytona, which is not yet on sale=

Despite the fact that it remains to be seen what the resale value of this model will be in three years, electric coupes are practically non-existent in America, so the Charger Daytona really has no competition.

Tesla Model 3 was named best premium electric car, and among electric crossovers, the award went to Hyundai for the new Kona EV. The list of winners also includes the full-size KIA Telluride crossover.

The BMW X1 and BMW 5 Series are also among the standouts, while Mercedes-Benz's only win is for the Sprinter model in the commercial van class. All of the above models are ideal to buy because, according to JD Power, they hold their price the best.
