The car you see in the pictures is a Mercedes-Benz 560SEC AMG 6.0 Widebody coupe from 1989. This car was listed for sale at a specialized online auction, with the price of the exclusive model of interest.

The auction ended, but the price soared to record highs and eventually the car sold for an amazing $545,000! That money can buy three brand new Mercedes 2025 AMG GT 63 Coupes in the US.

The high price of the car is explained not only by the growing interest in the so-called "young timers", but also by the rarity of this model. The independent, at the time, tuning studio AMG made only 50 of these 6.0 Widebody coupes.

The specimen presented at the auction was produced in 1989 and as new went to a buyer from Japan, where it remained until 2016. Then he returned to Europe, and after a while he crossed the ocean again, but this time he went to the USA.

The car is equipped with a forced 6-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine that develops 385 hp. It's mated to a four-speed automatic transmission that drives the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential.

The coupe features original OZ Racing wheels with black spokes and polished edges, shod with Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 tires. Inside, the impressive Recaro sports seats are electric, heated and memory.

Other extras include automatic climate control and a Momo sports steering wheel. Wood veneer and black leather were used for the interior decoration. The mileage shows a modest 89,830 kilometers for a 35-year-old car.

The car comes with all the necessary documents, and as a bonus the new owner will receive a Certificate of Authenticity from AMG Classic and various "extras", including a commemorative DriverSource 2024 Legends Collection CD.

Among the extras that will be handed over to the new owner are a folder with all the car's service records, accompanied by photos, a tool kit, two key fobs and a Hot Wheels model of the same car.
