Spy photos that have appeared online indicate a new interest in the Chinese automotive industry. The photos show us a four-door convertible based on the recently presented Avatr 06 sedan.
The lack of B-pillars - the hallmark of this unusual car - gives it a rather futuristic look. However, as CarNewsChina notes, such a design inevitably reduces the rigidity of the body.
This will require Chinese engineers to work extremely carefully to ensure the safety of this car. So far, they have not produced a car in this segment, and the risks are not small at all.
The dimensions of the convertible, according to leaked information, are identical to the dimensions of the donor sedan: 4,855 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width and 1,450-1,467 mm in height. The wheelbase of the new convertible is 2,940 mm.
It is not yet clear which engines will be offered for the Avatr 06 Cabrio. Apparently, buyers will be able to choose between fully electric and hybrid options. Detailed specifications of the power units, including power, range and charging time, remain a secret.
As for technology, the Avatr 06 Cabrio, like the sedan, will receive Huawei's advanced Qiankun ADS 3.0 driver assistance system, which provides a wide range of functions, from adaptive cruise control to automatic braking.
Production and sales of the Avatr 06, including the convertible cabriolet version, are planned for early 2025. The starting price, according to preliminary data, will be around 30,000 US dollars.
