A large SUV may appear in Honda's model range. This was hinted at by the vice president of the corporation Noriya Kaihara at the CES exhibition in Las Vegas to Car and Driver.
According to him, the upcoming merger of Honda and Nissan opens up new opportunities. Car manufacturers can fill new niches for themselves with models borrowed from partners.
In particular, Noriya Kaihara noted that Honda does not have full-size SUVs, but Nissan produces such cars. Therefore, it is possible to borrow them from partners, and in return give them models that are not in the Nissan line.
The next generation of these models will already be developed jointly by the two auto giants. As you know, Nissan produces the full-size Patrol SUV, the similar Armada, as well as the premium giant Infiniti QX80.
Recently, both models changed generations. The new Nissan Patrol/Armada and Infiniti QX80 reach a length of 5.3 m and are available in 7- and 8-seat versions. The full-size SUVs are equipped with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with a capacity of 425-450 horsepower and a 9-speed automatic transmission.
