Electric cars have won a major victory in the German market. At least according to Martin Sander, head of sales at Volkswagen, who claims that orders for the electric Volkswagen ID.7 have already outpaced demand for the traditional Volkswagen Passat.
Sander stressed that electric cars are already more reliable than cars with internal combustion engines and noted that only personal experience of consumers can change their perception:
“Electric cars are clearly better than those with internal combustion engines in terms of reliability. But it is important for consumers to feel it themselves,“ he said. The top manager also paid special attention to the Volkswagen ID.3, calling it a worthy competitor to three well-known models: Tesla Model Y, Volkswagen Golf and BMW i4.
“ID.3 GTX offers more range than Model Y, surpasses Golf GTI in dynamics and charges faster than i4, “ Sander added. These achievements confirm the growing popularity of electric vehicles and strengthen Volkswagen's position in the market.
Or at least that is the opinion and desire of VW management, but whether it coincides with reality - time will tell. Currently, the German market is experiencing a massive outflow of electric vehicles.
