The Kia Ceed will soon be discontinued. The last cars of this model will roll off the company's assembly line in the Slovak city of Žilina in May. This information was confirmed to AutoWeek by the brand's Dutch representative office.

It is noted that the Kia Proceed station wagon has already been discontinued. The remaining versions of the model will be discontinued in order to free up capacity for the EV4 electric car, which was recently presented and will be produced in Žilina. However, the related Hyundai i30 model will remain on the market for the time being.

It is worth noting that the Kia Ceed continues to be a very popular model. In 2024, 129,367 cars of all versions were sold on the European market. However, the life cycle of the model, which was introduced in 2018, is coming to an end and does not allow Kia to meet CO2 emission standards.

A new generation of the Kia Ceed is not planned, but the model will have two successors at once. One of them is the electric car KIA EV4, and the other is the gasoline hatchback KIA K4, which will enter the European market in 2026.

The Kia Ceed has been produced since 2007, and a total of over 1.7 million cars have been produced in three generations. Until 2011, it was the most popular model of the Korean brand in Europe. In different years, the range included a hatchback, a station wagon, a “sports“ version Proceed and an off-road version of the XCeed.
