The three most problematic used crossovers and what's wrong with them - 1

Experts from the British portal WhatCar have listed the three most unreliable family SUVs on the market in 2025. They made this list based on a survey in which car owners were asked to rate the reliability of their family crossovers over five years old.

The diesel Kia Sportage in the 2016-2021 versions topped the anti-rating . with a “reliability rating“ of 66.2% out of 100, compared to an average of 92.4%. Approximately 56% of surveyed owners of diesel Kia Sportage cars report that they have to repair their cars, while only 20% of gasoline versions of the same car have to be repaired. Most often, problems arise with the engine, transmission, electrical system, brakes, exhaust and fuel systems, as well as body parts and multimedia.

In second place in the anti-rating is the British Range Rover Evoque 2011-2019, which received a score of 73.8% out of 100, and 35% of the surveyed owners had problems with it. The most common failures of this car are in the electronic systems, suspension and exhaust system.

Third place is taken by the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, produced since 2017, with a reliability rating of 85.5%. The most common failures in this car are related to the battery, electronics and infotainment system.
