The Dacia Sandero, which remains the most affordable model of the Romanian brand and is the leader in sales in Europe, was caught by photo spies during tests ahead of a planned update.
The photos show us prototypes of the updated version, in particular the Stepway modification, which is distinguished by increased ground clearance, roof rails and a protective body kit in the lower part of the body.
Despite the camouflage covering the front and rear of the car, we can already see some changes in the design.
The front of the Sandero has received a modernized radiator grille, new LED headlight graphics and a modified front bumper with redesigned air intakes.
The updates are also noticeable at the rear: lights with modified LED graphics and darkened clusters, as well as a new design of the license plate holder on the revised rear bumper.
In addition, an expansion of the palette of body colors and the appearance of new alloy wheel options are expected, which will increase the attractiveness of the updated model.
According to sources, significant changes will also occur in the cabin. The main emphasis will be on the multimedia system, which will have a larger screen with expanded connectivity options.
In addition, the number of driver assistance systems meeting modern safety and comfort requirements will increase. The range of engines will remain the same - the gasoline units already used in the current version.
However, Dacia intends to take an important step towards electrification - in 2027, a new generation of Sandero will be launched, which for the first time will offer a fully electric version - the brand will continue to offer traditional gasoline engines.
The electric Sandero will allow Dacia to expand its presence in the segment of affordable electric vehicles, while the brand will maintain its competitiveness in the European market, offering affordable cars with internal combustion engines.
