BYD Vice President Stella Li said in an interview with the Financial Times that cooperation with Tesla could accelerate the transformation of the automotive industry. According to her, the two companies have a common interest - to overcome the dominance of cars with internal combustion engines and accelerate the transition to electric transport. Despite the growing trade tensions between China and the West, BYD is ready to share advanced technologies in the field of electric vehicles and autonomous driving with international partners.

Stella Li stressed that China has demonstrated greater openness to foreign business compared to Western countries. She stressed that the Chinese government is interested in cooperating with foreign companies and is ready to support them in implementing the latest technologies. Li's statement is especially telling against the backdrop of fierce competition between BYD and Tesla for the title of the world's largest electric vehicle manufacturer. While Tesla's sales show a downward trend, BYD continues to increase production volumes and expand its presence in international markets.

One of BYD's ambitious goals is to make advanced autonomous driving technologies, including the "God's Eye" system, available even in budget electric car models. Experts believe that this move may force other manufacturers to also adapt advanced developments for the mass market. In addition, BYD is actively promoting itself in the European market, considering the possibility of building factories in EU countries in order to consolidate its position and reduce the impact of customs restrictions.

Despite the deterioration of trade relations between China and the West, Stella Li is convinced that political barriers are temporary and in the long run, product quality and innovation will determine consumer choices. At the same time, the company does not plan to enter the US market due to the 100 percent import duties on Chinese electric vehicles. According to Li, BYD's success in China is due to advanced technology and high product quality, which gives the company an advantage in the domestic market and promotes its global expansion.
