It is not true that the prices of umbrellas on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast will rise this year due to an increase in the prices in the concession contracts.

This was announced to bTV by the Acting Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev.

„The way in which the rental of the beaches along our Black Sea coast is arranged is with fixed prices laid down in the concession contracts. Another issue is that the concessionaires want these contracts revised. At this stage, there is no reason to do this”, Miloshev clarified.

The minister predicts a good summer season in 2024

„The weekends around Easter were a great start to the Bulgarian tourist season. According to unofficial data, there were about 80,000 tourist registrations for this period alone, which is an optimistic start, he commented.

In his words, the Bulgarian tourist remains the leading tourist for our Black Sea coast.

„Among the other countries, Romania is the leader, followed by Poland, Germany, England, the Czech Republic and Israel. This year we will see how the conflict in the Middle East will affect the tourist flow, added the minister.

He confirmed that the main problem for tourism in our country is the lack of personnel.

„We are talking about a huge recruitment problem for the season. Our market needs workers from third countries and this is not a whim, it is not an extravagant decision, it is a necessity. There is a big problem with issuing visas, there is a big problem with the capacity and work of our consular services, especially in the Middle East”, announced the Minister of Tourism.

Milosev reminded that in the last days of their work, the deputies adopted a relaxed regime for renewing the visas of workers from third countries.

He called for an end to speculation that the water along our Black Sea coast is polluted.

„It is very disturbing that it is said that the water is dirty. It's clean. We shouldn't invent problems that don't exist", urged the minister.
