The heads of many of the largest US companies, especially in the technology sector, including Apple, OpenAI and Uber, donated a record $239 million to Donald Trump's inauguration events, more than double the amount donated eight years ago (2017-2021). This was reported by the "Financial Times" (FT), citing data from the US Federal Election Commission.
Former US leader Joe Biden raised approximately four times less in 2021. The money raised by Trump's inaugural committee came from companies in every major US industry, whose executives wanted to win support for the new president. Financial giants including JPMorgan Chase, BlackRock, Blackstone and Goldman Sachs donated $1 million each. Telecommunications companies AT&T, Comcast and Verizon donated the same amount.
Chevron donated 2 million USD. The same amount was provided by billionaire Jared Isaacman, who was appointed head of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
The largest donation - 5 million USD, was made by the largest chicken producer, Pilgrim's Pride, as well as by the cryptocurrency company Ripple, which donated almost 5 million USD.
