Lack of staff forces tourism employers to promise 20% higher pay - 1

Staff shortage forces for tourism employers to promise a 20% higher salary compared to last summer, at least that's what industry officials assured me during my meetings with them in recent days.

This was reported in the show “Sunday 150" of BNR Tourism Minister Evtim Miloshev, quoted by Epicenter.

He called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to do everything possible to send additional staff to our consular offices in the countries of Central Asia, where many candidates for our tourism jobs come from. We are talking about countries such as India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

Currently, requests for visa appointments are several months ahead, and tourism employers are waiting for these employees, Miloshev said.

According to the latest data, there will be around and over 10% growth in tourists this summer. The time at the beginning of May, when there were many holidays, was a good period, there were somewhere around 80 thousand tourist registrations, which is a good start to the season, Miloshev said.

Early registrations started at 9% VAT, and I promise to put the question before the finance ministry about whether it shouldn't be interpreted that when the season has already started, the rate cannot be changed again to 20% from July 1, Miloshev said.< /p>
