"Everything is shrinking after that euphoria, after the Covid crisis of 2022. From 2023. we have 17 months of steady decline. Imports fall, exports also fall. Foreign trade contracted in May by nearly 10% and this trend continues for the 14th month now, and industry continues to decline for the 17th month. Which means that throughout 2023 we continue like this".
This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Krasimir Dachev in "Day ON AIR".
According to him, the people are constantly moving away from political life.
"High energy prices and ammunition production. A little and the warehouses that they cleaned with old weapons, together with the mice we sold them to Ukraine and a little money came from there, they covered up the situation. Producers' costs are increasing by nearly 5%. Which means that by the time they reach consumers, they will be 15%. The politicians and I have two different agendas. They have other tasks, other ideas, the people have completely different ones," added Dachev for Bulgaria ON AIR.
Every year we go one and a half places back in the ranking of competitiveness, according to the deputy chairman of the BTPP.
"What is happening now - we are falling in the competitiveness ranking according to data from the Swiss Institute for Development and Management, we are in 58th place out of 67 countries. One back from 2023, 10 back from 2020 and 20 places back from 2010. The latter are Nigeria, Ghana and Venezuela. The biggest decline is in infrastructure and business. We are the first in terms of GDP growth per capita. We distribute salaries, take loans, give pensions and increase the income of the population. This is a temporary delusion," commented the guest.
According to him, the economy is going backwards because it is decapitalized.
"Why is industrial production shrinking? By 6.3% compared to last year, the mining industry by 15.5%, etc. The ever-shrinking population cannot feed itself. At one time we fed three Bulgarias. Self-confident people who had never done anything in their lives came in. Even worse news will come next year, which is inevitable. We're moving away from the innovation train. The agenda of society has nothing to do with the agenda of politicians. Have you seen a full man make a revolution. A revolution is made by hungry people," Dachev pointed out.
