We are actively working to attract foreign investors and create favorable conditions for business, as well as in support of export-oriented companies by strengthening commercial and economic contacts. This was stated by the Minister of Economy and Industry, Dr. Petko Nikolov, in his speech during the “Introductory seminar for newly arrived representatives of the diplomatic corps”, organized by the Ministry of Economy and Industry in partnership with the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Deputy Minister Nikolay Pavlov and Director of the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tanya Mihailova also took part in the seminar.
Dr. Nikolov pointed out that the policies carried out by the Ministry of Economy and Industry aim at a favorable institutional environment for business operations, including by creating an ecosystem of industrial parks throughout the country, by building prepared industrial grounds and creating conditions for development of scientific research and development activity“, he explained.
In front of the newly arrived representatives of the diplomatic corps in our country, Minister Nikolov outlined the main economic priorities of the country, such as full accession to the Schengen area, the OECD and the Eurozone, which will guarantee the sustainable economic development of Bulgaria.
In his words, Bulgaria's full accession to Schengen will facilitate the movement of people and goods in the region, strengthen economic ties and support the development of tourism. “Full accession to the Schengen area directly affects not only Bulgarian and Romanian businesses, but also all companies from around the world that operate in our region,”, he emphasized. Minister Nikolov added that Bulgaria is also working hard for the transition to the single European currency, which will not only increase the confidence of investors, but also facilitate trade and financial stability.
The Minister of Economy pointed out that our country continues to strengthen its role as an active participant in regional economic cooperation and its positions as a key factor for stability and security in our region.
Dr. Nikolov emphasized that the opportunities for the Bulgarian economy are great, especially in the field of technology and innovation. “We have a rapidly developing IT sector, which provides new horizons for growth and innovation,”, he said and added that Bulgaria is already an established leader in the field of information technology in the region, and actively promotes investments in start-up companies and innovation projects.< /p>
