Tsvetan Tsvetanov before FACTS: Loyalty to Borisov alone is not enough, Peevski's initials weigh heavily - 1

Why did the election for the Speaker of the Parliament get stuck and how important is this position? Are there any chances for a cabinet, or are we going to elections in 2025… Tsvetan Tsvetanov, leader of the "Republicans for Bulgaria" PP spoke to FAKTI.

- Mr. Tsvetanov, is the speaker of the parliament being elected, or a future acting prime minister?
- It is obviously a 2 in 1 choice, especially against the background of the "lean" home book. Taking into account the fact that Prime Minister Glavchev was unequivocally regarded as Borisov's face, fulfilling the will of another. The task of electing a Speaker of the Parliament, who will also become the Prime Minister, seems unattainable and overwhelming for our political elite today. All the past days, when politicians pretend to elect someone, they are actually fighting only for the achievement of their specific interests, which are in complete dissonance with public expectations. Political cynicism in our country has reached unprecedented heights and this further erodes trust in parliament and politicians.

- How do you see what is happening in the parliament. GERB-SDS are not backing down because...
- Because they will lose their electorate, who will hardly be motivated to vote in the future. Because even the worst assembly with PP-DB will certainly harm PP-DB more than GERB.

- Do you know Raya Nazaryan? How did she get into GERB? How good and loyal is she to become Speaker of the Parliament?
- I don't know Raya Nazaryan. I have heard that Raya Nazaryan was quite close to Tomislav Donchev and this is the channel for her entry into politics. Very quickly she was recognized by Borisov and thus got the rapid political development to the position of chairman of the National Assembly. Borisov likes to advance GERB women to do the work he can't or doesn't want to do. In this sense, there are no randomly appointed persons for nodal posts by the GERB team. However, the times are such that loyalty to Borisov alone is not enough. It is clear to everyone that it "weights" heavily Peevski's initials.

- Given the voting in the hall, how do you explain the behavior of DB and BSP?
- The behavior of DB and BSP during the voting in the hall has both situational and intra-party logic, which is followed by the elites of these two formations. The DB categorically want to distance themselves from the follies of the PP, although they do not want to leave the coalition just yet. After the removal of Kornelia Ninova, BSP follows the strategy of its new elite, which is on the "th" both with Borisov and Peevski. But for the sake of their electorate, the BSP are equidistant from the rest of the party's interests.

- Borisov is adamant that he will not manage Delyan Peevski's DPS-New Beginning. At the same time, whatever Peevski asks of Borisov happens through Dimitar Glavchev immediately. Why?
- Borisov has no other choice but to claim that he will not enter into a formal alliance with Peevski. And in order to appear credible, he also renounces a governing coalition with the participation of Dogan. DB, after landing in Rosenets and de facto playing for Peevski, now chose Dogan…

- Is Borisov dependent on Peevski?
- In order to be part of this political elite in our country, you have to be dependent - the more, the further you get... Why else is there this hysteria about control over the Ministry of Internal Affairs and all power institutions?

- “Revival“ they want everyone against GERB-SDS and DPS-New beginning, but it is not happening. Why does everyone justify with “Rejection“ that they do not want with them?
- Isn't it clear already? “Revival“ are selectively chosen as a counterpoint to most parties, as the unflattering partner, as the doomed to be an eternal opponent. Whether this situation of theirs will change remains to be seen, if and when President Radev sets out to form a party and declares his ambitions for taking power. But Kostadinov declared himself publicly as a chameleon and proved that most of his principles are temporary and conjunctural. The latter is mandatory if you want to stay in the current political climate.

- Are the next elections far away, given the situation you observe?
- In 2025 there will be the next early elections. Understand, the political terrain in our country has become corrupted to the extent that even the condition of the people cannot land any politician. This elite must go because its only purpose is to reproduce itself, satisfy itself and eat itself.

- Boyko Borisov Prime Minister, Atanas Atanasov Chairman of the National Assembly. What kind of offer is that which appeared in the media, to PP-DB?
- Borisov is looking for options to hook PP-DB into a new “assembly”, but for him to lead the process. I do not think that there is a chance that this offer will be realized, but it will be one of the main points in the future election campaign for the failure of the 51st National Assembly. It is clear to everyone that this is a bait thrown for PP - DB. We'll see if anyone will pick up on this provocation.
