Better elections than a government at any price. This commented before BNR sociologist Kancho Stoychev specified that elections are a democratic procedure, and democracy is cured by more democracy:
"The danger of getting more of the same in new elections is great, but democratic procedures and practices know no other way forward.
According to him, at the moment it is not possible to create a government in Bulgaria because of the changes in the Constitution made by the so-called assembly:
"The last elections were disputed by almost all political forces that entered the parliament, and before the constitutional amendments, the caretaker governments of the president held elections that went well and there were no problems with these elections. All the change that assembly made has doomed the country to the tragedy we are in now. ... What is their government for, to make bigger zulumi, better elections, of course se".
According to the sociologist, in a parliamentary republic such as Bulgaria, the National Assembly "is within its right and legal power" to make a decision to change the rules by which the president is elected, "so that the parliamentary procedure can be unblocked and the carousel with the mandates can start to move towards elections".
"If it does not come to the election of the oldest deputy, it is possible to go in the direction of changing the rules, so that this parliament works and go either in the direction of creating a government, which I doubt, or to go in the direction of beginning the work of the parliament, since a majority will probably be gathered to change the electoral rules".
If there are quick new elections, the PP-DB will hardly go into them split, predicts Stoychev.
He pointed out that there is an expectation in society for a new political player:
"This time, the probability that President Rumen Radev will enter the political field is quite high and it is very likely that this will happen. The trust rests with him personally, and he probably understands this very well. His choice is to sacrifice his mandate or to sacrifice Bulgaria".
Radev is a patriot and will sacrifice his mandate, not to sacrifice Bulgaria, the sociologist was categorical.
