Mustafa Emin: Politicians have turned the National Assembly into a pub with the main dispute - "Do you respect me?" - 1

If the MPs fail to deal in this parliament with the most basic thing, which is the election of chairman – first among equals, they cannot solve the structural problems for which they were sent, therefore, according to the Bible, they all become redundant. So Mustafa Emin, a member of the national council of “Bulgaria”, commented to Darik the stalemate in the 51st National Assembly, in which the people's representatives have not been able to elect a head of the parliament for a whole month.

“Democracy is not a hostage between Borisov and Kostadinov, between Kostadinov and Peevski. Democracy is a structure - a form of government in which the interests of the majority are taken into account, which means that we have no personal problems. If there are dependencies between Borisov and Peevski, these are their dependencies. We have a system that is currently failing. This slippage lies in everyone's inability to construct adequate political governance, Emin said.

When asked if these addictions do not reflect precisely on the way of governance, and hence on the voters, he said: “All of us are affected by addictions, but the system was constructed by the politicians. Politicians are directly responsible for making it a thing”.

According to Emin, the so-called sanitary cordons – the one around the DPS leader – New Beginning Delyan Peevski and the newly emerging around “Revival”, will lead to encapsulation of the political system and to an even greater outflow of trust among voters.

“We entered a vicious circle. Bulgarian politicians have turned the parliament into a pub where the main argument is: “Do you respect me”. This causes the system to loop. This, combined with the low voter turnout and the low trust in the electoral system of the Republic of Bulgaria, leads to an extremely complex political crisis that must be resolved, and in order to resolve it, the party leaders must step into their roles, Emin said. .

He specified that this means that political leaders stop personalizing political processes and take responsibility for electing the Speaker of the National Assembly and reaching the basis of democracy - political consensus.

“Here, in the situation that it is understood that a quota cannot be collected for Silvi Kirilov, let negotiations begin for the election of another, if necessary DB, if necessary from PP-DB, to create operational groups for preparation for negotiations, but not negotiations through the media, but party officials in the parliament to “hang” at the doors of the other parliamentary groups to ensure the support of the other parliamentary groups for the election of the Speaker of the NA”, Emin also said.
