In the last month we see radicalization of political forces, there is no dialogue on reaching any agreement on the speaker of the parliament, and also on any political actions. This shows that the parties are preparing for another early election, although it is not clear what may follow from it. This is what the political scientist Milen Ljubenov said in the program “The Live Day” on NOVA NEWS.
„We have a crisis of parliamentary democracy and the party system, of which we are seeing the last days,”, he believes. Lyubenov pointed out that the change of political leadership in the existing parties or “some alternative entities” can stabilize the process of deinstitutionalization of this system.
Regarding the candidacy of Atanas Atanasov for the chairmanship of the National Assembly, Lyubenov believes that “it was a political mistake on the part of “Democratic Bulgaria”, with which they tried to return to dialogue with GERB-SDS to form a majority&rdquo ;. In his words, “with this move, the tension between the two formations increased and will contribute to their split”. The political scientist believes that Atanasov's candidacy contradicts the main thesis of the PP-DB, which insists on the appointment of a prime minister who is equidistant from all political formations, with an emphasis on expertise. Lyubenov added that Atanasov has been proposed as a party leader, and so far we have not had such a choice of speaker of the parliament.
The political scientist said that at the moment the situation is that GERB-SDS cannot form a government either with PP-DB or with “DPS - New Beginning”, which leads to a serious deadlock. And he added that there should be talks in a quadruple format.
